The Los Angeles Lakers continue 2021 on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies. Fresh off of two wins in a row against the San Antonio Spurs, they want to keep trending up. This will mark the first trip out East, despite the Grizzlies still residing in the Western Conference.

The Grizzlies and Lakers are both coming into the game without some essential players. Alex Caruso remains out due to health and safety protocol. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is considered out after a mild ankle sprain while LeBron James is questionable with his own ankle injury. The duo of Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. are also nursing injuries on the Memphis side. The Lakers’ depth will be put to the test due to these lingering issues. It will likely mean extended playing time for the praise-worthy Talen Horton-Tucker.

Anthony Davis poured in his best performance on Friday. He finished with 34 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists against another short-handed squad. Davis has another opportunity to turn in a strong performance, especially if James is also not able to go.
