The Los Angeles Lakers play the Orlando Magic on Saturday in their second scrimmage at the Walt Disney World NBA bubble. With Alex Caruso returning from a one-game absence, only two players from the Lakers’ roster in Orlando are still out: Rajon Rondo, who is injured and will not return until sometime in the playoffs, and Markieff Morris.
Morris joined the Lakers in Orlando late for unknown reasons, much like his brother Marcus Morris for the Clippers. The post-trade deadline acquisition is still regaining his conditioning and match fitness after four months away from basketball and a quarantine process upon reaching Orlando.
Fortunately, head coach Frank Vogel told the media ahead of Saturday morning’s game that Morris will play in the team’s third scrimmage against the Washington Wizards on Monday. The Lakers will play their first seeding game on Thursday against the Clippers.

The Lakers signed Morris in February after he was bought out by the Detroit Pistons. The forward has appeared in eight games for the franchise so far, averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game.
He is one of three mid-season acquisitions by the Lakers alongside Dion Waiters and J.R. Smith both of whom are yet to make their non-scrimmage debuts for the squad.
