Ladies and gentlemen, we have finally some Los Angeles Lakers basketball!
The Lakers took the floor on Thursday night against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks losing the scrimmage by a score of 108-104. Judging from the first half of basketball though, it’s safe to say that they’re locked into the Orlando bubble.
Stars Lead The Way Early
It’s just one game, but LeBron and AD continued their dominance as, arguably, the league’s best duo. Both were orchestrating the offense and defense in regular-season form. James and Davis finished with 12 points each. They shot a combined 73 percent on 13 shots. LeBron even hit the gas one time and gave fans a taste of what’s to come.

Dion? DION!
It’s awesome to see guys get a shot at redemption and Dion Waiters has his chance. In the absences of Alex Caruso, Rajon Rondo, and Avery Bradley, he quickly poured in nine points in 13 minutes. We also saw him share some of the point guard duties, a welcomed sight to add a playmaking and scoring threat to relieve the Lakers’ big guns.
Dion attacks off the hesi after Dallas miscommunicates on defense, then makes a nice mid-air adjustment for the and-1 to Dwight. He's been excellent tonight. @Lakers pic.twitter.com/cMPdATCUxC

Kuz Looking For The Groove
Kyle Kuzma is touted as one of the big pieces to the Lakers championship run and continues to get his footing. Kuz’s aggression was apparent upon his entrance as the sixth man. He finished with nine points on 13 shots. After a season of finding his role and working through injuries, the team hopes his confidence keeps leveling up going into the playoffs.
The Lakers next action is on Saturday against the Orlando Magic at 12PM EST/9AM PST.
