It’s Laker’s media day, and LeBron James gave us some insight on how he thought the offseason went. James voiced his pleased with how the front office constructed the roster. The Lakers were unable to bring in that third star but made up for it. James and Anthony Davis are a good starting point. The front office did a good job of surround the two with shooters, something that was sorely missed last year.
Here is the full quote from Silver Screen and Roll’s Harrison Faigen.
I think Rob, Kurt, Linda, and Jeanie and everybody else did a hell of a job this summer. From acquiring AD to acquiring everyone that’s a part of this team, to bringing back the guys that were free agents last year, bringing them back o the roster, they did a hell of a job, and bringing in the coaching staff, hand-picking the coaching staff as they did… through all the bull**** that was narrated for our franchise, and narrated going towards Rob and the beautiful people that we have upstairs, they just kept their blinders on and focused on what they had to do to help this franchise be as competitive as they can be… I think they did a hell of a job, and I’m happy to be a Laker.
James made it known that he was not pleased with the approach made last year. No one will ever know how the team would have been without the injuries. The formula of James and shooters has yielded positive results.
Adding Anthony Davis just makes that situation sweeter. The front office did face a lot of backlash, they still did an admirable job filling out the roster. Most importantly, they kept LeBron James happy.
