LeBron James has spent his adult life at the top of the basketball world and few can relate. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic meets the criteria as one of the few. In two short years, he’s brought home a Rookie of the Year award and got into the MVP conversation. Like James has done for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, he’s boosted them into the playoffs.

James has admired Doncic from afar. It even came down to a major collaboration. The four-time NBA champion had an eye on Doncic’s footwear free agency. He spoke about nearly bringing him aboard his own brand on Road Trippin’ with Richard Jefferson:

The two superstars joining forces would’ve sent NBA and fashion fans into a frenzy. It also sparks curiosity about what other stars LeBron could bring on board. We will never know, but maybe one day he will get another opportunity to expand. James and Doncic will square off on Christmas Night at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST.
