The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks have been in discussion over the last few days on a deal centered around forward Marcus Morris along with Kyle Kuzma. A former Klutch Sports client, Morris appears to be headed across the locker-room to the Los Angeles Clippers after those discussions ended today.

It appears that the talks between the Knicks and Lakers were highlighted by Kuzma coming back to New York in a trade package. Within the last hour of the NBA trade deadline, the Lakers took Kuzma off the table, opening up the doors for the Clippers to gain the inside track on the deal. Shams Charania of The Athletic was the first to report on the talks:

Kuzma had been mentioned in earlier season deals with the Sacramento Kings. The Lakers appear to be standing pat at the moment and hope for additions in the buyout market.
