Kyle Kuzma makes the Los Angeles Lakers even more dangerous than they’ve sporadically proven through three games. His abilities as a scorer and creative threat gives the Lakers some endless lineup options. With his clearance to participate in light scrimmage, it’s only natural that Kuz takes the next step of joining the squad for real minutes.
Head coach Frank Vogel provided fans a healthy helping of good news. It appears that Kuzma is progressing as expected. Lakers reporter Mike Trudell took to Twitter with an update:
Vogel said they don’t have a specific game in mind for Kuzma’s return, though he continues to ramp things up. He remains out tonight, but will be on the upcoming 3-game road trip (Nov. 1, 3 and 5 are the games). There’s a possibility that he could play on the trip, per Vogel.

With Kyle Kuzma returning, it means two important things: new Puma shoes (hopefully) and we get to see if he’s really advanced his game from the summer. The Lakers lack another perimeter threat and ideally, that bill can be fitted by Flint’s own. If the production of last year translates to this season, there’s no reason that the Lakers shouldn’t be one of the best teams in the league this year.
Kuzma was the team’s second-leading scorer last season with 18.7 points per game.
