On media day, we got to see our first look at what the Los Angeles Lakers would look like. It’s nothing short of a motley crew when you take a look at everyone there. Rob Pelinka brought them together, but how would they fit? There are still so many questions about the starting line up and minutes distribution. This offseason brought about many new players and some returning. The three that are guaranteed to start are Danny Green, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. Would there be a possibility that conflict arises from this? What about the other players? Luckily, the general manager specified the roles that each player would have, according to JaVale McGee.
JaVale: "Everybody knows their role and everyone is comfortable in their role. Rob did a good job of telling everyone before they signed what their role would be."

Rob Pelinka informing players of their roles is important to team chemistry. There were rumors of McGee being unhappy with Zubac’s growing role, influencing the trade of the Croatian. McGee is ironically a player whose role could change. Dwight Howard, if healthy can contend for the starting center position. For now, I believe that McGee will be the starting center just due to the continuity and familiarity with James from last year.
There were whispers of Pelinka not following through with his word last year, so hopefully, that will be different this season. It will be interesting to see how LeBron’s training camp influenced which players play which role.
