The wave of Lakers signings continues as they have re-signed center JaVale McGee, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN. The team agreed to a two-year deal, with some details per Yahoo Sports Keith Smith.
Per sources, JaVale McGee has a player option for the second year of deal for the 2020-21 season. This means that McGee also has a de facto no-trade clause.

The 31-year old veteran big man had other suitors as the Houston Rockets were interested in his services but McGee decided to remain in Southern California. Last year was somewhat of a resurgence for the Michigan native as playing alongside LeBron James did wonders for him.
McGee will likely start next to Anthony Davis to complete the frontcourt for the purple and gold. He is the latest of signings for the Lakers that include Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Troy Daniels, Jared Dudley, and Danny Green.
In 75 games with the team last year, McGee averaged a career-high 12 points per game to go along with 7.5 rebounds, and two blocks while shooting 62.4 percent from the field.
