The Los Angeles Lakers have officially announced their 2019-2020 coaching staff.

Jason Kidd, Phil Handy, Mike Penberthy, Lionel Hollins, and Quinton Crawford are among the assistant coaches. Among those working with Frank Vogel, a few more names were in the announcement. Greg St. Jean, Dru Anthrop, and Jon Pastorek are among the coaching staff.

Greg St. Jean has spent the past four seasons at St. John’s University tasked with scouting, game preparation, and player development. St. Jean was originally a basketball ops intern with the New Jersey Nets and became part of the Sacramento Kings staff after his stint in the east coast.

Pastorek is making his return with the Lakers, spending his second consecutive season as an assistant video coordinator/player development coach. This summer he was part of the coaching staff for the Lakers’ Summer League team.

Anthrop was previously the assistant video coordinator/player development assistant coach with Memphis last year. There is a familiarity between Anthrop and Vogel as he was with Orlando during Vogel’s tenure there. He also was a film coordinating intern with the Pacers from 2013-2015.

A new coach with a new coaching staff will be something to look at for Laker fans. How the team plays under this coaching staff will be a topic of conversation. All of the optimism surrounding the Lakers, hopefully, the coaching staff will help bring the team back to the postseason.
