As if the Los Angeles Lakers weren’t dramatic enough, they found a way to take it to a whole new level. Laker great and now the team’s former president of basketball operations Magic Johnson went on ESPN’s First Take to talk about what led to him stepping down from his front office role with the purple and gold. Johnson dropped major news in regards to the team’s general manager Rob Pelinka and how the latter was a “backstabber” during the former’s time in the Lakers’ front office.
This was all happening as the Lakers tried to prepare for new head coach Frank Vogel’s introductory press conference. Because, well, that’s the Lakers.
Gary Kester and Honi Ahmadian sat down to discuss Magic’s comments, the effect they could have on free agency and excitement about Vogel taking over as head coach of the team.
