The Los Angeles Lakers are going international.

As announced by the NBA and the team, the Lakers will match up against the Brooklyn Nets in two preseason contests in China to start the 2019-20 season.

The games have been scheduled for October 10th in Shanghai and October 12th in Shenzhen.

The Lakers are one of the most global brands in the world, certainly in the sports industry. Their prominence in Asia, especially, is well pronounced. Both contests will likely feel like home games for the purple and gold as many people who would not otherwise be able to see LeBron James and the Lakers will finally have the opportunity.

The Lakers are no strangers to preseason games in other countries. They most recently played a pair of games against the Golden State Warriors in Beijing and Shanghai, China as part of the NBA Global Games.

With the Lakers hoping to make some major transactions over the summer, the fans in China could be in for a treat with a new-look Lakers team hoping to make a deep run in the playoffs in the following season.
