Podcast: Lakers Get Wire-to-Wire Win Against Miami Heat Behind LeBron James’ 51 Points

Miami Heat

For the second time in three games, the Los Angeles Lakers witnessed what it’s like to have LeBron James on the roster. The King exploded for 51 points against the Miami Heat, leading the Lakers to a wire-to-wire 113 to 97 win in South Beach.

After a disappointing loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday, James set the tone, early, scoring 28 in the first half against his former team. He did not take his foot off the pedal in the second half as the Lakers led by double-digits the entire way, to secure the victory on the second game of a back-to-back. James added eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.

Kyle Kuzma scored 15 points, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope made three 3-pointers en route to 19 points and Lonzo Ball recorded six rebounds and seven assists.

Four players scored in double-digits for the Heat, led by Wayne Ellington’s 19.

The Lakers were helped by their tremendous defense, surrendering only 97 points despite a barrage of 3-pointers in the second quarter. The Heat shot only 40.2 percent from the field and turned the ball over 12 times.
