Podcast: Lakers Secure First Win of Season in 131-113 Blowout of Phoenix Suns

It took some time but the Los Angeles Lakers are finally in the win column. The Lakers faced the Phoenix Suns on the road on Wednesday and came out on top, blowing out their division rivals with a final score of 131 to 113.

Seven Lakers finished in double-digits, led by Lance Stephenson’s 23 points. JaVale McGee added 20 points and four blocks. LeBron James put up 19 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in only 28 minutes.

The Suns were led by Devin Booker’s 23 and Deandre Ayton’s 22.

It was the Lakers’ most complete effort of the season. They shot 52 percent from the field and hit 10 of 28 three-pointers. The purple and gold racked up 34 assists while turning the ball over only eight times. Meanwhile, they forced the Suns to 19 turnovers and held them to 10 of 31 shooting from behind the arc.

After Luke Walton’s fine-earning comments about officiating, the Lakers attempted 23 free throws to the Suns’ 21.
