According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is going to meet with the crosstown rival Los Angeles Clippers on July 1st.

The former Lakers guard wasn’t expected to re-sign with the team as they made the push towards signing Lebron and Paul George, but with Paul George re-signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Caldwell-Pope could become a candidate to fill out the team.
Last season, KCP played 74 games with the Lakers, averaging 13.4 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, and shooting 38.3% from three, which is a career high.
For the Clippers, this doesn’t make too much sense. They traded Austin Rivers earlier this week for Marcin Gortat as they had a logjam of guards, so having interest in another guard is confusing. To be fair, not much of what the Clippers have done over the course of this year hasn’t made sense.
