
It’s finally over. It’s now been announced that Paul George will be signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder . After being in pursuit of Paul George since his time as an Indiana Pacer, the Oklahoma City free agent will not be suiting up for the Lakers this following season.

There was a very strong belief that Paul George was committed to re-signing even prior to the trade deadline. The Thunder made a very strong early impression and rode that connection all the way through.

Concluding the three part series that chronicled his offseason what how he would decide his future, Southern California native Paul George chose to not play for his hometown team. The free agency series took a look at Paul George’s thought process and gave the viewers a nuanced look at his decision process.
In part two, Paul George spoke about how much it would mean to him to play for the Los Angeles Lakers and his home fans before talking about although that would be great, his main goal is to win a championship. He discussed with Dwyane Wade the possibility of playing in OKC with Russell Westbrook again or other options that were available to him. It looks as though the other options were much more enticing to him.
Ultimately, Paul George decided that playing for Thunder best choice for his career and would be the best chance of winning a title. After years of pursuit and speculation, the Paul George won’t be coming home. Ultimately a blow for the purple and gold, there is still plenty to look forward to with the coming season and free agency.
