Magic Johnson is always a great person to interview, and he yet again showed that on Lakers media day. He continued his high praise for Lonzo with this quote.
"People don't realize that this guy right (Lonzo) will be the best in the game, along with Chris Paul and LeBron, at setting people up."

That seems like a tall order for a rookie point guard to live up to, but seeing Lonzo in Summer League, you just might be able to believe it. Magic continued talking about Lonzo and how his rebounding capabilities will help the team.
Magic says Lonzo's ability to rebound is huge.
"If he gets a rebound, he'll put three guys behind him."

Lonzo’s length and athleticism will be able to help him in the rebound department, especially over older, bigger front courts that won’t be quick enough on their feet. Magic also talked about the other 2nd overall pick Brandon Ingram’s confidence on the court.
"I think BI, just his confidence. It's all about his confidence. He's got the talent. He can be an All-Star." – Magic on BI

Magic also said that Brandon Ingram needs to take control of the game more.
Magic says BI deferred too much last season. Said they "need that BI" from Summer League and team needs him to average 15-20 points

That might be asking a lot from a second year player, but if Brandon Ingram lives up to his potential, it shouldn’t be a problem. Magic continued on to talk about Kyle Kuzma, and the process behind drafting him.
"We were like 'Ok stop shooting so good. We want you.'"
— Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) September 25, 2017
As anyone who watched Summer League can tell you, the way Kyle Kuzma was playing, he very well could be the steal of the entire draft.
Finally, Magic closed out by talking about Lavar Ball and the relationship he has with him.
"The fans don't see that side LaVar. They don't see him when he's at home w/his boys, w/his wife."
— Jacob Rude (@JacobRude) September 25, 2017
"I want fans to fall in love with this young guy. I'm excited. LaVar and I are great and I think he's going to be an excellent fan."

It’s very clear that Magic enjoys the team that he and Rob Pelinka have assembled, and we’re all very excited to see how the team does this season.
