With his dunk over Brook Lopez being a major topic of discussion for some during Media Day, Larry Nance Jr mentions the possibility of entering the dunk contest in the 2017-2018 season.
Nance on the dunk contest: “I would love to stay healthy and I would love to do it…. It’s in the cards right now.”

Of course, Nance would have to stay healthy during the time leading up to the All-Star break, but he’ll have a strong chance of winning the contest should he decide to enter. It depends on the competition, but with a dunk resume like Larry’s, it’s hard for me to imagine a player who could beat him.

Now if Brook Lopez is cool with it, we could recreate Nance’s top dunk from last year for the dunk contest. Lopez could stride out on to the court and stand underneath the basket. Instead of dunking on him, Nance could try jumping over him or something, or having Lopez pass him the ball. Either way, I’m excited to see Larry in the dunk contest and I hope he will enter and make all of us proud.
All-Star weekend is in Los Angeles this February, giving Nance the opportunity to put on a show in front of Lakers fans.
