Lonzo Ball’s time in Vegas may have been cut short due of his calf injury, but his presence was surely felt throughout the Summer League. After averaging 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and a summer league record 9.3 assists, Ball was named the Las Vegas Summer League Most Valuable Player Award.

After struggling in his first game against the Clippers, Ball bounced back tremendously with a couple of triple-double games against the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavilers. Ball also added a 36-point and 11 assists performance against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Ball’s running mate Kyle Kuzma was also recognized for his outstanding performance. Kuzma was named to All-Summer League second team. Kuzma, a late first round selection (27th overall), leads the Lakers in scoring at 20 points a game. Kuzma also leads the Lakers in 3-point shooting at 45 percent.
