Podcast: Lakers win 2017 NBA Summer League championship

The Los Angeles Lakers are back on top of the NBA mountain.

Well, not quite. But they are certainly on the upward swing after another excellent draft class has fans buzzing with excitement. The 2017 NBA Draft class for the Lakers headlined their Summer League roster in Las Vegas and ran the table, winning six straight games to take home the title in Sin City.

Led by No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball and potential steal of the draft (No. 27 overall) Kyle Kuzma, the Lakers overcame an 0-2 start in Summer League play and a plethora of injuries to capture the crown. Although most agree a Summer League title means very little, it’s the first step in the process of rebuilding the culture and vision of the Lakers that general manager Rob Pelinka and president of basketball operations Magic Johnson have laid out.
