Two former members of the Los Angeles Lakers have found new homes. In order to clear logjams in the front court and at the shooting guard position, the team had to let go of forward Tarik Black and guard David Nwaba.
After Nwaba was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Bulls, it looks like Black has landed with a new team as well.
Free agent forward Tarik Black has reached agreement to sign with the Houston Rockets, league sources tell The Vertical.

Black had a brief stint with the Rockets before being waived and claimed by the Lakers back in 2014. In 25 games with Houston, Black tallied 4.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in just 15.7 minutes per game.
The story was similar with the Lakers, as Black took advantage of relatively minimal playing time while coming off the bench, playing hard every night. With so many front court players on the roster, the Lakers had to shed someone, but they will certainly miss Black’s energy, rebounding, screen-setting and more. Black will now join a team that many expect to be among the best in the Western Conference next season.
