Report: Jim and Johnny Buss try to remove Jeanie Buss as the Lakers’ president and majority owner

The Lakers just can’t escape from their own family drama. According to the Los Angeles Times, Jim and Johnny Buss tried to remove Jeanie as the Lakers’ president and majority owner.

A few weeks ago, Jeanie acted within her power to remove Jim from his basketball operations duties, but Jim still has a legal share of the Lakers’ ownership.

It seems that Jim and Johnny want to have full control to the Lakers’ franchise. The battle for majority ownership is currently ongoing in the legal courts. The LA Times also reported that on Friday Jeanie’s attorney has filed a temporary restraining order at Los Angeles County Superior Court to halt any efforts from her brothers to take any actions against removing her title.

The Buss’s family saga has been ongoing for a few years now, there were clear conflicts between Jeanie and Jim. Currently, the Lakers have a new structure and management with Magic Johnson as the president of basketball operations and soon-to-be general manager Rob Pelinka.

Hopefully, Jeanie and her brothers could find a peaceful way to negotiate their family business without it being detrimental to Lakers basketball.
