The Los Angeles Lakers have already signed second round pick Ivica Zubac to his rookie deal. Second overall pick Brandon Ingram, however, has not yet been signed.
According to Mike Bresnahan of TWC SportsNet, however, Ingram is still expected to play in Summer League.
Not yet. But he's expected to play in summer league even if he doesn't sign. https://t.co/4TYm2kJQpS

This is a bit of a strange situation. The Lakers are likely holding out on singing Ingram until they are sure they don’t need any extra cap space for free agency.
Ingram playing without a contract is a bit of a risk due to injury concerns. However, it will benefit him to get acquainted with the system and his new teammates, namely D’Angelo Russell, as early as possible.
I would still expect the Lakers to sign Ingram to a contract before Summer League officially begins on the July 8. They have a recent history of doing so at the last minute, and may opt to do the same once again this year.
