Report: Evan Turner interested in the Lakers

Update:

Sean Deveney of Sporting News reports that Turner will indeed meet with the Lakers among other teams once free agency officially begins.

It is an almost certainty for Jordan Clarkson to be re-signed come July 1st, but that won’t stop the Lakers from pursuing other guard talent. The Lakers are reportedly interested in Mike Conley and are angling for a meeting with DeMar DeRozan. One more guard is interested in at least entertaining the possibility of joining the Lakers, according to Mark Medina of the LA Daily News.

Evan Tuner is 27 years old and is coming off a year where he did a little bit of everything for the Celtics. Well, everything but shooting the three-ball effectively.  It seems Turner is keeping his options open with interest in six teams, including the Lakers and rival Celtics.

This would be a remarkable Celtics to Lakers ‘face-turn’, something that Brandon Bass pulled off last offseason. Turner wouldn’t exactly be the best fit alongside D’Angelo Russell, lacking competent three-point shooting.  This is assuming he earns the starting job over Clarkson, but a starting job would certainly have to be something promised in order to get Turner in a Lakers uniform.

If the Lakers should end up signing Turner, his Twitter presence would be a great contributing factor:
