For the first time in several years, the Los Angeles Lakers have built what looks to be a promising core of young talent, yet to be established in the NBA. That core, of course, is centered around Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and No. 2 overall pick, D’Angelo Russell.
All three have intriguing individual storylines coming into the season. Clarkson — fresh off his rookie season that saw him go from little-known second-round pick to an NBA All-Rookie first team performer — faces daunting expectations and the challenge of avoiding a sophomore slump. Randle is essentially still a rookie on the court, as he attempts to bounce back from his devastating leg injury a year ago. And Russell will be under a microscope and compared to Jahlil Okafor, seeing as a number of fans wanted the team to draft the latter.
Despite their unique storylines, though, they all share a similar responsibility. Each player is an integral part of the Lakers’ future. But which player is the most important in that regard?
The answer to that question seemingly depends on who you ask. Therefore, we want you, the fans, to decide. Let your voice be heard and cast your vote in the poll below.
