The Los Angeles Lakers are arguably coming off the most exciting game of the year. The game had everything. There was tough shots made by both teams that eventually led to overtime. It was all capped by an Austin Reaves game winner.
The win was a big one, especially on the road. Granted, the Dallas Mavericks were missing Luka Doncic, but the Mavericks came to play. The Lakers were also thin due to several players entering the league’s health and safety protocols. Just a day later, both Russell Westbrook and Avery Bradley have entered the health and safety protocols as well.
This season has been about familiar faces. Now they are relying on yet another former Laker to help them in a time of need. The Lakers have signed point guard Isaiah Thomas to a 10-day contract per Marc Stein.
The Lakers are finalizing a call-up of former All-Star Isaiah Thomas from @NBAGrandRapids in the @nbagleague, league sources say.

Thomas comes back to the purple and gold after being with the team in the 2017-18 season. It was reported the Lakers had interest in signing him in the off-season. However, when they signed Rajon Rondo, the option was out the window.
Thomas made headlines yesterday as he finished with 42 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds in his G-League debut. IT has been eager to be back in the NBA and has had several landing spots, but none have been long term. The Lakers desperately need the bodies and Thomas just wants the opportunity, so it’s a win-win situation.
Keep in mind the Lakers were able to offer a 10-day contract under the hardship exemption, as reported by Shams Charania of the Athletic.

Happy to see Thomas with the team he grew up cheering for. Hopefully he is able to take full advantage of his opportunity and help the Lakers get some wins.
