The Los Angeles Lakers continue their trek without some two of their most important players. This time around, it was a much better effort against an old friend, the Miami Heat. The South Beach bunch escaped with a 96-94 win. LeBron James made a stealthy deflection that led to a missed jumper by Alex Caruso in the waning seconds.

James finished with 19 points plus nine rebounds and assists. Kyle Kuzma led the Lakers with 23 points. Montrezl Harrell had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers were abysmal from long range. On a season-high of 45 attempts, they only made 28.6 percent of them. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope found success hitting three of his five attempts. This could prove helpful in the absence of both Anthony Davis and Dennis Schröder. The hole left in the front-court seen the Lakers lose that paint battle, 52-38

The Lakers fall to 1-3 in their last four games. Their next game will be on Monday against the Washington Wizards.
