The Los Angeles Lakers finally returned home and secured a huge win. The 11-3 Lakers overcame a very slow start before turning on the jets. LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the charge per usual. James nearly notched a triple-double at 21 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. Davis added 17 points and six rebounds. Montrezl Harrell continues his bench dominance with a 16 point, five rebound performance.
As mentioned, the Lakers were down as much as 15 points in the first half. By halftime, they pulled within one point, 58-57. The third quarter was powered by a 27-16 gap that closed the door on the Pelicans’ pursuit of a win. Unfortunately, they could not get a Los Angeles win.
The Lakers shot it well from long range. On 37 attempts, they finished at 40.5 percent on the night. This season, they are the third-best shooting team from three in the league. They also took extremely good care of the ball. They won the turnover battle with only six to 20 by the Pels.
Tonight’s game is their fifth win in the row. They will not be back in action until Monday, where they will take on the Golden State Warriors on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
