Quinn Cook is back with the Los Angeles Lakers this year after winning a championship with the team he grew up supporting last season. The hot-shooting guard did not get much of an opportunity to play last year but quickly assimilated to the team as one of its most beloved members.
Cook was actually waived at the beginning of the offseason as the Lakers offloaded salary to work around the salary cap. Once their major transactions were finalized, the three-time champion was brought back to LA.
Cook recently spoke to the media about that process and had nothing but good words to say for the Lakers’ handling of it:

For a franchise that had rumblings of toxicity in the work environment and front office members allegedly back-stabbing each other or certain players, it’s obviously great to see that they managed to keep Cook happy during what must have been a difficult time for him.
Cook, who has raved about his delight in being a Laker in the past, is a close friend of Anthony Davis and LeBron James and seems to be close to everyone else on the roster too. It’s basically impossible to hear anyone across the NBA say a bad word about him.
Cook is likely not going to factor much in the rotation this year again, despite some great outings in preseason so far. But the Lakers and fans should be happy to have him back in the locker room.
