Dennis Schröder brings the Los Angeles Lakers a huge weapon. He’s not just a young spark off the bench. Schröder has been a playoff starter and last year he shared time with a future Hall of Famer in Chris Paul. Both Schröder and the Lakers have been linked for a while and now he’s finally landed with the purple and gold.

With a high level of NBA experience, it’s ideal to be able to transition onto a championship roster. There’s still work to be done by the veteran. He will need to earn the trust of his new teammates and coaches. There’s already a route to this, as explained by head coach Frank Vogel.

Coach Vogel spoke about Schröder’s admirers and how Vogel is at the top of the list in terms of Schröder fandom. Silver Screen and Roll’s Harrison Faigen shared Vogel’s thoughts on his new point guard:

It must be music to Schröder’s ears hearing about early faith. He’s certainly going to have big responsibilities. He will be filling the hole that Rajon Rondo left in his departure to the Atlanta Hawks. Luckily for him, Anthony Davis and LeBron James will be there to help. Whether that will be as a starting unit remains to be seen. Regardless, there should be moments where Schröder will swing the momentum of big games.
