UPDATE (11/18/20):
It’s now being reported by Adrian Wojnarowski/ESPN that Danny Green’s Thunder tenure will not happen, as GM Sam Presti will be sending him to the Philadelphia 76ers. Green will be exchanged for Al Horford (and his huge contract) along with a first-rounder and a second-rounder.
The Sixers are trading Al Horford and a first-round and second-round pick to the Thunder for Danny Green, sources tell ESPN.

This trade won’t be able to officially happen until the draft tonight is completed. Keep an eye out for the Lakers entering this to make it a three-team trade. The Lakers may receive something in addition to Dennis Schroder, possibly re-entering tonight’s draft by getting that second-rounder which will be the 34th pick tonight.
UPDATE (11/15/20):
It now sounds like the deal is finalized and ready to go for the moratorium to be lifted tomorrow, as Shams Charania of The Athletic has announced that the Lakers and Thunder have an agreement in principle done. The Lakers will be trading Danny Green and the number 28th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to the Thunder for Dennis Schroder.

Original story
Early Sunday morning, important dates for the 2020-21 NBA season were reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, including the end of the NBA’s offseason moratorium barring teams from executing trades. Wojnarowski reported that teams had been notified of this, with trades being able to be executed at 12:00 p.m. EST on Monday, November 16th. It didn’t take long for the Lakers to get involved with even more trade rumors, as Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Lakers and Thunder were engaged in active trade talks involving the Lakers’ 28th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft in exchange for Dennis Schroder (later also reported by Adrian Wojnarowski/ESPN). It was quickly escalated, as Wojnarowski/ESPN is now reporting that the deal just needs to be finalized Monday.
Schroder-to-the-Lakers is well on course to be completed on Monday, sources tell ESPN. Rival teams in pursuit of the OKC guard have started moving onto new targets. The Lakers will land an impactful, versatile guard in pursuit of the franchise's title defense. https://t.co/KOAcjyIked

The Lakers are engaged in active talks on a deal to acquire Oklahoma City’s Dennis Schröder, which would send No. 28 pick in Draft to the Thunder, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

In addition to the 28th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Wojnarowski/ESPN reports that Danny Green has been involved in the discussions between the Lakers and Thunder. Currently there has been no mention of Kyle Kuzma in either of the reports, although he may still be involved only a few days after his name being associated with a potential trade for the Spurs’ DeMar DeRozan.
It should be noted that a deal involving the 28th overall pick would not be finalized until after the 2020 NBA Draft on Wednesday, as the pick cannot be traded until a player is drafted.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the Lakers have sought out a trade for Dennis Schroder. Hell, it wouldn’t even be the first time in the 2020 calendar year. Back in February prior to the deadline, it was no secret that the Lakers were looking for a scorer to bolster their bench lineups. They were associated with names like Derrick Rose and Darren Collison in addition to Dennis Schroder. It was reported at the time that discussions between the Lakers and Thunder did not go far as it seemed that the asking price from the Thunder was too much for the Lakers at the time. These new reports regarding a possible trade are surprising, considering we are only a few days removed from Schroder indicating that he didn’t want to go to a team like the Lakers or Clippers in the middle of his 2019-20 season.
Let’s hope his mind has changed in regards to joining the Lakers, as it seems he will be in the purple-and-gold before the end of the week.
