Shaq potentially to appear on AEW Dynamite on TNT

Shaq

Shaq has dominated everything from movies to music and was a monster on the court, but it seems that he might step into the ring on TNT for AEW Dynamite.

The former Lakers superstar has made appearances on WWE in the past, but after a confusing promo spot on the November 11th episode of Dynamite, it looks as if he is set on a collision course with “giant slayer” and Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling Cody Rhodes.

“That giant that you were talking about… oh he’s a real star, and you know what his name is? Shaq.”

According to the announcers’ table later in the broadcast, Shaq was spotted lurking backstage at the Full Gear pay-per-view on November 7th.

Nothing is confirmed by the company or any affiliated members, but for Jade Cargill to make such an insinuation of a match between the two in my mind means that the fight is all but booked. Cargill is a fresh face at AEW and made her debut in the company with her monologue to Rhodes.

It’s hard to bet against Shaq in a fight, of course. The man is huge and would be a tough challenge for the toughest of wrestlers. Rhodes, however, was recently the TNT Champion (a title he might have invented for himself after failing to capture the AEW title) and has faced the likes of Brodie Lee, Lance Archer, and Eddie Kingston who have all recently challenged for the AEW title.

Regardless of what happens in the ring, the match between Rhodes and Shaq should make for excellent television and help make AEW more popular with a broader crowd tuning in.
