The short-handed Los Angeles Lakers (51-17) could not find their footing against the Houston Rockets (43-25) as they suffered a 113-97 defeat. Kyle Kuzma led the Lakers in scoring with 21 points. Anthony Davis added a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Tonight’s loss marks a two-game skid going into the weekend.
Spare A Three?
Another night in the bubble, another night of the cold shooting. As if they could not get lower, they finished the game shooting 10.5 percent from three-point range. You read that right, they only made two of their 19 attempts. When will it end? At some point, even the endless hurls at the rim have to net something. The basketball gods continue to prove us otherwise though.
A Talen Horton-Tucker Appearance
It was nice to see the rookie get some playing time against rotation opponents. He showed some flashes that he was a rookie but also had moments that were extremely encouraging.

THT finished the game with 10 points and three steals. The Lakers must continue to develop him around their championship core to solidify the future.
What Next?
The Lakers are on a two-game losing streak with a few games before it’s playoff time. Is it time to sit the starters? Should they continue to play and find some kind of cohesion? Head coach Frank Vogel will have to do some consulting to figure out their mindset. They’ll soon figure out who they will face in the playoffs and have to game-plan to salvage an ugly time in the NBA Orlando bubble.
The Lakers are back in action on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers at 6PM EST/3PM PST.
