
Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that J.R. Smith has found and NBA home. The Los Angeles Lakers lost Avery Bradley for the playoffs, but they’ve wasted no time bringing him in to replace their depth. The team is finalizing a deal with Smith ahead of the Orlando restart per ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Smith was on the Lakers’ radar prior to the shutdown after the buyout deadline. Smith participated in a joint workout alongside Dion Waiters, who the Lakers signed in March. Despite going in that direction, the team remained in contact a spot opened the pathway for Smith.
Smith’s last NBA action was with the Cleveland Cavaliers where he appeared om 11 games before reaching a buyout during the 2018-19 season. Smith will bring a wealth of experience playing in four NBA finals alongside LeBron James. Smith also shares agency with Klutch Sports with both James and Anthony Davis.
