Well that was fun, right? The Lakers put together one of their best games on both ends against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers in a 120-107 win. Anthony Davis led the way with 37 points and 12 rebounds. Fellow all-star LeBron James pitched in with 22 points on the night as well. The Lakers picked up their first victory of the season against the Sixers.
Defense, Defense, and More Defense
The Lakers looked the liveliest on the defensive end that I’ve seen all year. Their length, communication, and hustle were imprinted all over this game. The Sixers shot 44.7 percent from the field in light of LA’s efforts.
Anthony Bleepin’ Davis!
It’s going to be said all throughout his Lakers tenure, but AD showed why you go all in on a talent as unique as he possesses. After going down 44-31 in the first half, Davis used a 26 point thrust to turn this game on its head. His energy and effort also featured a plethora of fast break plays and open three-pointers. The Lakers went on a 34-10 run and never looked back.

2 Steps Closer
The Lakers magic number to clinch a playoff berth is down to two. It’s been a seven year drought and after last year’s catastrophe, it’d been good to solidify their post-season spot early. The earlier the spot is secured, the more that the Lakers can manage their veteran’s minutes.
The Lakers will be in action against the Bucks on Friday back at Staples Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm PT/10:30pm ET.
