LeBron James is coming off a season-high of 40 points in the Los Angeles Lakers sixth straight win against the New Orleans Pelicans. After a monster game, it appears that James is taking some injury precaution. Lakers reporter Mike Trudell reported that the team has listed James out with a groin injury on Thursday. The Lakers are visiting the Golden State Warriors.

This marks the third game of the year that James has missed. His previous two were against the Denver Nuggets at home and on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Last season, he missed 27 games with a groin injury, the most of his NBA career. James also nursed a similar groin injury in their Christmas Day loss against the Los Angeles Clippers. While the injury seems to be more maintenance than lingering, it’s important the Lakers monitor his health.
The Lakers have two more road games against the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans following Thursday’s contest. After the brief trip, they will play six of their next eight games at Staples Center. Hopefully those will feature James’ return to the lineup.
