Dwight Howard has been through an up and down career that’s allowed him to undergo a rebirth this season. A familiar face with the Los Angeles Lakers, it appears he’s not done stomping on old grounds. Howard has committed to participate in the 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend, per The Athletics Shams Charania.
Howard, an eight-time NBA All-Star, has been an important piece from the Lakers bench this year. His numbers are not the monstrous lines that made him the future Hall of Famer that he is, but his energy and defensive impact are imprinted in the Lakers Western Conference-best record of 29-7.
This contest marks Howard’s fourth career commitment. He was the winner of the 2008 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
