The Los Angeles Lakers, winners of four in a row, are hoping to make that five in a row as they host the Detroit Pistons. The Lakers (28-7) have a clear advantage against the Pistons (13-23) talent wise.

This should be a game that the Lakers handle with relative ease, but we know that the Lakers like to make things interesting. The team has been unable to hold on to their large leads over the past few games, and have had to play their starters well into the 4th quarter.

The most interesting story line coming into this game isn’t on the court, but rather off it. According to reports, the Pistons have been engaged with several teams in talks to potentially trade their long time center Andre Drummond. The Pistons are a team with a lot of players making a lot of money but don’t seem to be going anywhere. Considering all of the baggage that the Pistons are bringing, this should be an easy win for the Lakers. But again, they seem to like to sleep walk in games like this.

In order for the Lakers to come out of this game with an easy win, the bench is going to have to be better. The bench over the past few games has disappointed, forcing the starters to have to come back in and rebuild a lead that the bench lost. Hopefully the Lakers bench is able to show up to this game. If they don’t, the starters may have to play high minutes once again just to hold on to a lead.

The game will start tonight at 7 PM, so make sure to tune in to see if the Lakers decide to show up and play a full 48 minutes of focused basketball. If they don’t, it may be another frustrating night.
