Welcome to another edition of Lakers Saturday superlatives! We hope you had a better holiday than the Lakers. But! Now is not the time to ruminate on this four-game losing streak. Let’s take a look at some cool things from this week.
Performance of the week
Kyle Kuzma gets the nod for this superlative this week for his performance against the Clippers. On Christmas, day, Kuzma led the Lakers in scoring with 25 points. He flashed what Laker fans expected out of him providing some much-needed scoring with LeBron James and Anthony Davis going cold the first half. He also hit four three-pointers which led the team.
Kuzma has struggled with injuries this season and having him play well would be huge for the success of the team. It is important to note that he did not show much of his passing that he flashed last season. Still, it is important that the Lakers get Kuzma going, especially with LeBron sustaining a groin injury.
Kicks of the week
Anthony Davis really brought out the heat with these. If you recall, Kobe Bryant wore these exact same shoes in Christmas of 2009. Ever since the Nike Kobe IV, the low tops have been a revolution and these are no different. The shoes were inspired by the Joker and will be receiving the “Protro” treatment within the next week.
Load management moment of the week
Lakers’ LeBron James: “I felt healthy going into the game. The second or third defensive possession, I got kneed in the groin taking a charge from Pat Beverley. That kind of sent me back to where I was five days ago.” pic.twitter.com/KHWoCjyMZQ

This has been the second Christmas in a row that LeBron has had an injury. He recently spoke about how he did not want to “load manage” despite having done so in the past. LeBron is close to his 35th birthday. He has played an insurmountable amount of minutes during his career. Laker fans saw what happened last year when he went down. The important thing is keeping the King healthy as you can see how disjointed the team is without him. For the love of God, Vogel. Please keep him healthy.
Fit of the week
Troy Daniels continues to just get these fits off while not really contributing much to the game. In the case he does get cut for someone else for the Lakers to bring in, I have to give this guy love. I really appreciate the River Island jacket that he has on here during the game against the Nuggets. Pair that with the denim jeans to go along with the Nike’s and this is a winner in my book. It’s simple and it looks fantastic.
