Anthony Davis has been named Western Conference Player of the Week. During the stretch, the Lakers went 4-0, and Davis averaged 35 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1.8 Steals.
Davis is coming off a 50 point game in which he was the most dominant player on the floor all night. He was also typically dominant on the defensive end as well, making it an altogether incredible performance.
This is his seventh time winning the award, and the second time as a Laker. Davis has been incredible this season. He’s a legitimate top five MVP candidate and perhaps the DPOY leading candidate. LeBron seems to be the clear leader on the team, but Davis has stretches where you could conceivably argue that Davis is the best player on the team
The Lakers are about to embark on a five game road trip, and if the Lakers want to be successful on the trip Davis will have to have a stretch similar to the one he just went on.
