Rajon Rondo is no longer expected to make his season debut on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors according to Chris Haynes/Yahoo Sports.

Late Friday night Haynes reported that Rondo was aiming to return on Sunday against the Raptors, but it sounds like that is no longer the case.

Haynes followed up his original report by saying that Rondo will “partake in a workout session with a few bodies to ramp up his endurance.”

The Lakers are 7-1 and trying to make Sunday’s game against the Raptors their 8th straight win.

By all accounts Rondo is a true leader on and off the court, but his days of being a nightly impact player seem to be long behind him. It will be interesting to see what role he takes on the team when he returns.
