The NBA world was shaken up on Thursday by the news that DeMarcus Cousins had suffered a torn ACL. The injury occurred on Monday during a private pickup game in Las Vegas.

While injuries at this time of year to anyone are devastating, it was particularly saddening for Cousins who has now suffered from a torn Achilles tendon, a ruptured quad and now the torn ACL in the last 18 months.

The NBA community at large took to social media and traditional media to send their well-wishes to Cousins in light of the news.

First and foremost was his new teammate Kyle Kuzma who spoke to reporters during a Team USA basketball practice in the Lakers’ training facility (via the Lakers’ Mike Trudell):

“It’s super unfortunate for a guy like DeMarcus because you can just tell how much he loves basketball through all of these injuries … he’s fought back and tried to get back as early as possible … he was going to be a big part of what we’re going to do.”

Cousins’ former coach with the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr, was also on hand at the practice and gave his thoughts on the devastating injury:

Other players from current and former teammates to stars around the league also sent out thoughts and prayers through social media:
