Despite the constant drama and turmoil surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers, they still have an important draft pick to make. The team announced that they will be working out Texas Tech swingman Jarrett Culver this Saturday. The team will host him at the UCLA Health Training Center.

Culver is coming off a strong NCAA Tournament where he averaged 18.5 points per game in six contests. His performance led the Red Raiders to a championship bid. The 6’6 guard/forward brings a multitude of offensive and defensive potential that could prove to be a major addition to the Lakers young core. Last season he was award Big 12 Player of the Year.
Rumors swirled that Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland could have received a promise from the Lakers, but it appears that Culver’s invitation could silence those whispers for now. On top of potentially adding him to their young core, Culver’s selection could serve as a sweetener in the Lakers adding a superstar to the roster, most notably Anthony Davis.
Whatever decision the team makes, they can jump ahead in their resurgence and Culver is a worthwhile prospect to start with their recovery from last year’s letdown.
