The trade deadline did not go as planned for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, they were able to get one potentially valuable piece.
The Lakers acquired 3-point shooter Reggie Bullock for rookie Svi Mykhailiuk and a second round pick in a move designed to add shooting to a roster strongly lacking it. Bullock struggled in his few games with the Lakers, amid some lingering injuries, shooting an average 34.3 percent from behind the arc.
Nevertheless, the gravity provided by his reputation did help the Lakers and they would be wise to consider bringing the wing back. For his part, Bullock was not shy about saying he wanted to return at his exit interview:
Bullock said his interest level in returning to the Lakers is “very high.” He loves Los Angeles and said it’s a “great organization” that he’s a fan of. “They welcomed me with open arms."

Bullock also talked about some of the struggles of being added to the roster late in the season:
Reggie Bullock said he loved getting to know his teammates, but it was tough to find chemistry given all of the line up fluctuation due mostly to injuries. He added he knows he’s a better shooter than he showed in his 2 months.

The Lakers and now resigned president Magic Johnson made a crucial and unacceptable mistake in not signing shooters last offseason to surround LeBron James. Bringing Bullock back would allow them to take a step in the right direction while keeping some continuity rolling.
