On Friday, March 22, the Lakers were taken out of playoff contention, losing to the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 111-106. Two days later, another Net may be sabotag- I mean getting involved with the Lakers according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Kidd will be among the serious candidates for the Lakers coaching job if Luke Walton is dismissed, league sources tell ESPN. That’s expected to give Kidd some pause on pursuing the Cal opening now. https://t.co/mm1SHCcVNJ

After a tumultuous third season with the Lakers, Luke Walton may be let go as head coach. Among those candidates could be former New Jersey Net, Jason Kidd who was part of the Nets team that lost to the Lakers in 2002. If you recall, the coach of that team recently was involved with the Lakers to a less than stellar results.
Following his playing career, Jason Kidd became the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets in 2013, leading the team to the conference semifinals. If you recall he also had this famous incident during this game against the Lakers. He was shipped off to Milwaukee due to reports that he wanted more say in who the front office brought in to the team.
During his tenure with the Bucks, Jason Kidd never made it past the first round. He was fired midway through the 2017-18 season in which the Bucks went 23-22.
Jason Kidd, the player was one of the best point guards to watch. Jason Kidd the coach has a lot to be desired. Knowing the Lakers front office and their penchant for signing people based on name alone, this is sadly a reality we might have to possibly accept.
