Woof, what a week right?
Oh, right it’s just Monday.
The latest report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is that the Pelicans are asking for the entire farm from the Lakers.
Pels are waiting on Lakers to overwhelm them w/ an historic haul of picks. To Nola, that means Lakers offering 4 first-round and second-round picks as part of a Davis package. Pels want to be compensated – perhaps even overcompensated – to even consider a deal with LA now. https://t.co/Ft8rfe9EBZ

The Pelicans are expecting an extravagent offer to be made for Anthony Davis to be traded before the deadline. Not only do they expect to be compensated for the services of the Davis, but they want to be overcompensated to even CONSIDER dealing with the Lakers.
Per @wojespn, the Pelicans are asking for 'four first round picks' from the Lakers for Anthony Davis https://t.co/3RbpXu7Dcb pic.twitter.com/6LTHno4CcM

Woj is reporting that the New Orleans Pelicans are not only expecting Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, and Michael Beasley, but also a combined six future draft picks. Those draft picks include 4 first round picks as well as 2 second round picks.
After the initial trade proposal that was reported by Brad Turner, it seemed like that deal would be enough for the Lakers to get the deal done, not only getting Anthony Davis in return but also taking on the salary of Solomon Hill, freeing up some cap relief going into this upcoming summer to pursue some stars on their own.
Since then, it’s been clear that the Pelicans want more than what the Lakers have to offer, or they flat out don’t want to make a deal with the Lakers even if they offered to replay the NFC Championship game.
It’s going to be a hectic next few days. Stick with us for all your latest Laker related news.
