It’s good to have a superstar.
The Los Angeles Lakers envisioned that when they signed LeBron James and it came to fruition on Wednesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers as the Purple and Gold rolled in the second half to beat the Blazers 126 to 117. This was the Lakers second straight win over Portland, after previously losing 16 straight.
The Lakers, now 8-6, were led by a monumental effort with LeBron James who hit five of his six 3-point attempts en route to putting up 44 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. He also contributed three blocks in what was his best defensive effort of the season.
James’ contributions led to a historic moment as the Lakers’ star passed Wilt Chamberlain for fifth place on the NBA’s All-Time scoring list, becoming the fourth former (or current) Laker to make an appearance.
The Lakers also received major contributions from JaVale McGee (20 points, two blocks), Brandon Ingram (17 points, four assists) and Lonzo Ball (11 points, six rebounds, three assists) to earn their fourth straight win.
