After a disappointing effort in a loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers got back on the right track with a 114-110 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Behind strong efforts from LeBron James, the Lakers were able to withstand a barrage of threes from the Wolves who made 20 of their 40 attempts from behind the arc. Derrick Rose was 7-of-8 from three before missing a potential game-winning shot in the closing seconds. Josh Hart secured a rebound and made two free throws to ice the win.
James finished the game with 24 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. He was one of five Lakers with at least 20 points.
Josh Hart added 21 points including going 5-of-7 from three off the bench but his play may have been overshadowed by another reserve. New acquisition Tyson Chandler, in his Lakers debut after being bought out by the Suns, played solid defense throughout his 23 minutes and secured two offensive rebounds (and forced a team rebound) on the Lakers’ final offensive possession before Hart’s free throws. He finished the game with two points and nine rebounds.
