It was the same old song and dance in Minnesota on Monday for the Los Angeles Lakers. After remaining close through and leading for big portions of the contest, the Lakers faltered down the stretch and a dagger three-pointer from Jimmy Butler with 19.7 seconds left helped the Timberwolves to a 124-120 win.
Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma each shined bright on the night. Ingram, re-entering the starting lineup with a bang, pouring in 24 points in 25 minutes. Kuzma caught fire in the first half and finished the night with 19 points. LeBron James was his dominant self, finishing with 29 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
However, the Lakers allowed 20 offensive rebounds to the Timberwolves while Minnesota shot 14-of-29 from beyond the arc in the win.
At 2-5 on the season, is it time to worry about the Lakers? Did Luke Walton make the right call with Lonzo Ball over Rajon Rondo down the stretch? The guys discuss that and more from tonight’s loss.
