The NBA handed out additional punishments to Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram on Sunday. The two players were key figures in a brawl during the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday.

Ingram will be suspended for four games while Rondo will miss the Lakers’ next three games.

Both Ingram and Rondo connected on punches against the Rockets’ Chris Paul. Paul initiated contact on the Rondo after the latter allegedly spat on him. Rondo and the Lakers claimed that that was unintentional and a result of wearing a mouthguard. Sideline video of the incident seems to show Rondo indeed spitting on Paul.

Paul was also suspended two games by the NBA. The NBA’s vice president of basketball operations, Kiki VanDeWeghe was in attendance.

The Lakers will likely start Lonzo Ball at the point guard position to replace Rondo. The sophomore was being eased into the rotation after offseason surgery but looked the part in Saturday’s defeat.

It’s not clear who will start in lieu of Ingram but Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma seem to be the most likely beneficiaries.

The Lakers face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday hoping to secure their first win of the season.
